Many communities have discovered the benefits of supporting

Interfaith Volunteer Caregiving Programs:

  • The Elderly remain in their homes where they are healthier and happier
  • Non-medical assistance for the Home-bound
  • Neighbors Helping Neighbors

"I feel that the webinars alone make our NVCN membership worthwhile. Thank you!" Linda Bollivar, Executive Director, Bloomington-Normal Faith in Action, Illinois

"The reason that I belong is simple. I live next door to the house where Mary once lived - the same Mary to whom I made my promise that I would do what I could to help people, like her, living alone with no one to help them. When I see her house, I'm reminded of my promise. Belonging to and supporting NVCN is the best way I know to keep that promise."  Paul Jellinek, Mercerville, NJ, author of Promise to Mary

"I have met many wonderful people through NVCN. I always have someone to call who has experienced the same challenges I face. Our program never would have flourished without the network of support I received."  Jan Irish, Program Development Professional, Oregon

"Membership is like a continuing education course, without - in most cases, having to leave your desk.  Sparks of inspiration come from networking and enable us to have some 'refreshing' as we do our jobs daily.  Also, the discount on the last NVCN Conference I went to, it seems more than paid for the yearly membership."  Martha Jo Buller, Circle of Caring~FIA

The first-hand, direct advice from hundreds of program directors across the country through the google group is a steal at $120.  Throw in the webinars that fit in perfectly with the types of information I need and it is like a too-good-to-be-true-deal.  Add in the affiliation of a national network, which gives stronger credibility to our work, and a website that lists and locates similar projects across the country -- and the deal just gets better.  Rhonda’s links to timely statistical info and grant opportunities makes it only that much better.

There is no other source of information and support that is such a solid match with what I need as a program director.  It can be lonely and challenging trying to steer a local program on your own, but being tied into a network of others across the country who do the very same thing day in and day out is enormously encouraging.

After twenty years of service, our program has just now passed the $200,000 budget size, and I understand full well the constraints of finding even a small amount of money for things that are not urgent bills, but $120 is a great investment for what any program can get out of the NVCN resources.

I was happy to pay it just for the larger affiliation and conference opportunities in the past, but the new google group sharing (even though I don’t post often) and the info that Rhonda sends around have increased the value for me tremendously. Karyn Dombrowski Curro, Executive Director, Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, MI
